The Town of Pawleys Island has a beach wheelchair that can be used on the beach by persons who have difficulty walking in sand. It is available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the Pawleys Island Town Hall at 843-237-1698. The chair is located at the south end beach access and may only be used on the beach in the vicinity of that access.

Conditions and Procedures for Use:
- The wheelchairs may be checked out on an hourly basis and must be returned to the Police Department by 7:30 p.m. each day.
- The chairs MAY NOT be taken outside the vicinity of the south end beach access for any reason.
- The Town of Pawleys Island will keep the chairs clean and in operable condition. The responsible person will be liable for any damages to the chair while in his/her possession.
- The responsible person, the person using the chair, or the user’s guardian, understands that the Town of Pawleys Island is NOT liable for any accident or injury that might occur while the chair is in their possession.
