Town Council 2026 Strategic Priorities

The Town of Pawleys Island Town Council conducted a goal-setting workshop on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, which was facilitated by Charlie Barrineau of the Municipal Association of South Carolina. The meeting resulted in Town Council members agreeing to 12 priorities for the Town of Pawleys Island, sorted into 3 tiers. 

Town Council members were assigned leadership responsibilities for each of the priorities. The goals/priorities are as follows:

  • Beach Renourishment (Mayor Henry, John LaMaster)
  • Flood Mitigation (Paul Groce)
  • Historic Preservation (Paul Groce)
  • Revenue Sources (Mark Hawn, Sarah Zimmerman)
  • Grant Acquisition (Mayor Henry, Mark Hawn)
  • Creek Health (Paul Groce, Sarah Zimmerman)
  • Ordinance Enforcement (Paul Groce)
  • Swimmer Safety (Mayor Henry, Mark Hawn)
  • Personnel Policy (John LaMaster)
  • Waste Management (Mark Hawn)
  • Emergency Management (Sarah Zimmerman, Paul Groce)
  • ARB Program Review (John LaMaster)
