The Town of Pawleys Island Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The hearing will be held in the Town of Pawleys Island Town Hall at 323 Myrtle Avenue in Pawleys Island. Virtual attendance is available at the following link: 6-2-26 ZBA Virtual Meeting
The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public input on the following:
- VAR2026-00001: A request for a variance to Article 3-4.2: Street Frontage. Per requirements of this section, the front yard is established on Pearce Street, which creates a non-conforming setback on the southern (rear yard) side of the lot. The structure is currently located ~13.1ft from the Southern property boundary. Rear yard setbacks are 15ft in the Low-Density Residential (R-1) Zoning District as outlined in Article 3-2.2 (E) Minimum Required Yards. The applicant is proposing to establish the western side of the lot as the front yard which is in keeping with the structure/lot configuration of beachfront properties on Pawleys Island. The property is located at 254 Pearce Street in Pawleys Island with the Tax Map Number 42-0163-126-00-00.
