HURRICANE DORIAN UPDATE #4 (9-5-2019)
So far, the storm has brought high winds and the Town has already seen upwards of six inches of rain. We’ve experienced minimal impacts, including minor coastal erosion. Conditions will continue to deteriorate today through this evening. There will be an onshore wind today at high tide and our main concern is storm surge and possible coastal erosion.
There’s not much more we can do as a Town to prepare for Hurricane Dorian, and all we can do now is wait and see what happens. We have worked closely with our County, State and Federal partners to ensure that all the necessary resources are in place to help us respond and recover once the storm has passed.
We will release an update later today following high tide.
